OK so we talked about the river, where, and maybe even when to float. But what should you bring? First and foremost, is a good looking swim suit! We'll make that #1 on the list. ___ Swim Suit ___ Camera ___ Sun Screen and Sun Glasses ___ Bottled Water ___ Ice chest with ice and plenty of your favorite beverages ___ Lots of Ice ___ Snacks ___ Don't forget your Free Amatuber Koozie with any purcahse! ___ Hat ___ River Shoes ___ Bungee's to hold your ice chest in the tube or the lid closed ___Zip locks or waterproof bags that you can secure to you or your tube/ice chest for your ID, credit cards, cash, car key's, cheap disposable lighters, they float and they will get wet. Don't forget your snacks and water they are invaluable, being hungry or dehydrated will make for a bad trip ... it's typically 4 to 6 hours per float. Also see the river regulations page to make sure your equipment is within regulation. Jell-o Shots, and Coolers over 16 qts for example are prohibited within the city limits of New Braunfels
And remember NO GLASS, NO STYROFOAM, and please cleanup after yourself. Most outfitters will supply you with a mesh bag to store your garbage. I have seen others use this bag to store extra beer to help get around the use of a small ice chest. They do patrol the rivers, either with a canoe, or by simply standing in the river checking your equipment as you float by. For those of you who have crawfish boils, save the sacks they come in. They make great bags for floating. |
